Time to play

Date June 10, 2008

Since March of this year, my foodblog has been pretty ‘inactive’ due to many things that have happened around me and my family. There was death int he family, I lost my job. had to find a new one. And now I have just that. In as much as I would like to update this regularly, it had to take a back seat since I was not really cooking much. And not only that. I had to open another website few weeks back, it’s kind of a special project and it’s been taking what’s left of my internet time. To be honest at times when I’m too tired from work, I do not want to do any internet activities and just focus on other things. Even for relaxation I had to find something else to do than turning on my laptop. For fun I turn to my PSP (playstation portable) and I’m quite happy about it since I have learned how to play pool!
Yeah, you might not believe it but a game like pool which I found really boring in the past relaxes me now whenever I need some. What makes it fun is that it takes away my thought from food (oh yeah! because of the past months of losing my job and death, I kind of ‘let go’, was a bit depressed and now I’m carrying probably extra 15 lbs that I want to lose!) and if my husband will agree with my idea, maybe we can play the real thing once in a while since he also likes pool. In the past during his younger years, he was good at billiards so I asked him to teach me play the real thing. He has been giving me tips which pool cues to use and has even found this link, PoolDawg Review for me to check out.

Ah, maybe there’s a truth in the saying ‘a family that plays together, stays together’ . And of course, I wish to be back to regular blogging here, soon.

I am an Asian married to a dutch gentleman, residing in Holland. There is no way that I’m a good cook, in fact I only started to cook few years back, in the year 1999 actually, when I gave my ‘ja’ word to the dutch gentleman on our wedding day *smile*. Now I enjoy spending time in my kitchen especially when there’s something new to try, new to experiment. here....
