Neua Tun or Braised Beef Soup

Date December 4, 2007

It’s winter time again, the time when every bone in my body is asking for something warm which is also nice for the tummy. It’s the soup season in our house, yes..you read it right…soup season.

I have mentioned on my November 26th entry that I have tried 4 new recipes that night, well this was one of them. I truly am a fan of this soup for many years. My favorite to order at Hua Hin’s night market whenever I had my day’s off. I rather eat this than the fancy menu we always get from the hotels where I was working for 6 nights a week. Somewhere along the way, I craved for easy, not fancy named soup but is truly yummy.

I was lucky to have found the recipe in one my Thai cookbooks which only needed a little tweaking since the ingredients was lacking a thing or two to achieve the taste I had in mind..or on my buds. This soup has that sweet beefy taste combined with the crunchy bean sprouts and lettuce, a perfect match.

If you’d like to have the recipe, please leave me a message on my comment box and I will be more than glad to share it with you. I’m pressed for time so I think at least for now, I will place the recipe only if someone request for it.
