Greetings from Thailand

Date September 25, 2007

Husband and I are in Thailand right now, enjoying a short vacation…so my kitchen is close. But not this blog. The coming entries I’ll try to share some photos of both the places we’re visiting (and will be visiting) and food that we’re enjoying, of course!

Our tuktuk ride from hell , it was a Sunday, a holiday too so main roads were open and quiet, the more reason for tuktuk drivers to fly the road!!

but just a quick post for now, these are shots I’ve taken on my first day in Bangkok (sunday 23rd, September) at MaHBoonKrong (MBK) shopping mall. at the lower ground of this huge shopping complex are stalls which offer some of my favorite Thai quick bites such as their famous papaya spicy salad.

a nice Thai lady smiling for me when I asked her if i could take her picture
while she’s preparing a papaya salad…for another client, not me

I am an Asian married to a dutch gentleman, residing in Holland. There is no way that I’m a good cook, in fact I only started to cook few years back, in the year 1999 actually, when I gave my ‘ja’ word to the dutch gentleman on our wedding day *smile*. Now I enjoy spending time in my kitchen especially when there’s something new to try, new to experiment. here....
