Villa Augustus
We’ve been having good sunny weather in Holland , or at least on our part of the land, that my husband and I simply grab every opportunity we get to bike around. We live in this little ísland’ surrounded by water and it’s just wonderful to go around it by bike, I of course am always carrying a camera because you’ll never know what you come across with, right?
Such as when we came across this old water toren (reservoir) turned hotel with restaurant and a marvelous garden. The place is called Villa Augustus. We decided to park our bikes and have a bite inside. An afternoon tea for two.

on toast sweet potato, cameralized witlof, pamadori with herbs and sprinkled parmesan
quiche I couldn’t quite recall all the ingredients though, but I’ve tasted sweet potato, ham, tomato among other things..it was warm, fresh from the oven…lovely taste.
lemon and chocolate taart … oh so good
we did had tea but I was so focused on the food that I forgot to take photo of the whole spread. *tee hee*
After we’re done snacking, we went out to the garden. That was the old water reservoir which is now a hotel, just opposite the restaurant.

its garden….

this was the restaurant opposite the water reservoir

lovely tulips

this was the view from the side of the hotel

it was a nice stop that afternoon. And sure will not be the last time!

Thess, I love the way those snacks used sweet potatoes. Yummy looking! Growing up in the Philippines, I always thought of camote as dessert – having recently married and moved to Canada, I find that it has equal stature as a straightforward veg. Live and learn
