Good night rest is important.
Who would have believed that me, ‘Superwoman’ or at least I thought I was many years ago, would feel tired and not well when I begin my day? That happens a lot when did not get a good night sleep. Ah the result of aging, I suppose. Our body changes with time. If before I could sleep no matter where I was, or whatever I was sleeping on and wake up rejuvenated…I must admit that this doesn’t happen now. With my back and neck pain that kill me especially in this cold winter weather, I sometimes wish my husband and I could just pack our belongings and move to a tropical country where the sun shines many hours in a day!
Being in a cold country, we must take care of our health doubly hard. For an Asian like myself fighting low temperature, I tell you it’s a battle that I wish I didn’t have to face each year. Since my body isn’t built for winter, I started to feel pain that I did not experience in my years of living in Asia. My neck and back hurt so much that I take numerous trip to the doctor and physical therapists to alleviate the pain. Not only that, I also must sleep not just on mattress but on double memory foam mattress. It isn’t fun having back pains whether lying supine or on my side. And with neck pain to top this, urgh! And what about the stress of everyday work. Sometimes pain reliever just doesn’t cut it anymore.
Now I’m a firm believer of good memory mattresses. After a good night sleep on this mattress I feel that I can take on the challenge a day brings. I also became a believer of sleep! If before I never thought of it as necessary for a productive day, now I do. I do feel the difference of not getting a good night rest from getting one. I am less tired, I could work extra hours and boy, how happy I am if my day goes without back or neck pain! This also means less pain reliever to swallow which really I am thankful.
