SILOG atbp for La.Pi.S
Me: Wat wil jij vanavond eten? (what do you want to eat tonight?)
Husband: Knoflook rijst met zoete vlees en gebakken eiren (garlic fried rice & fried egg with sweet pork/ tocino)
Me: weer? (again?!)
Husband: ja, waarom niet? (yes, why not?)
Me: komt goed voor elkaar ( ok, for short *lol*)
This is a common conversation between my husband and I, few times in a month actually. He truly likes the Filipino way of preparing fried rice (SInangag) with garlic, fried eggs to top the rice and sweet marinated pork (Tocino) on the side. Believe it or not we had it again just now, only I wasn’t in the mood to shoot therefor you see but recycled photos.
SInangag is also perfect to go with other viand such as adobo (chicken or pork in soy sauce) or with my favorite daeng na bangus (fried marinated milk fish). When that yolk oozes to the rice, well..that makes my SILOG perfect!
When husband requests for a not so simple Sinangag (below photo) then I simply add some ham, green peas and light soya sauce , and of course loads of fried garlic.
I’m just glad that my husband though Dutch, loves to eat rice. Otherwise it’s not nice cooking Tocilog, daengsilog, or tapsilog (tapa or beef marinated in vinegar and garlic) for one.
SILOG is this week’s La.Pi.S theme. Join us!
