Curly Kale – Mashed potatoes

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! ESPECIALLY TO MY FRIENDS IN THE UNITED STATES!

We do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Holland thus no Thanksgiving spread for me to post. What I have here was my husband’s request and what we had tonight. He wanted Boerenkool Stamppot ( Curly Kale with mashed potatoes, a typical dutch meal) with worst (Dutch sausage) and that’s exactly what he had. Only I wasn’ t able to take shot of his plate. On the photo was my plate, only instead of sausage I made for myself roasted beef with onion sauce. Beef was seasoned only with salt and pepper and cooked from start to finish consistently in same low temperature resulting to soft meat. Typically the Dutch would use the jus (juice of the beef cooked in butter) as sauce but I do not often use it on mine. Instead sometimes I would prepare commercial Maggi powder to make my sauce. Luckily there are a lot of them good tasting available in our local groceries.

The next time I cook this I hope that I can share with you the complete recipe with photos.
