Recipes from a game console?
I’m a bit ashamed to disclose this but I am a game addict. I am so addicted to games that I have not just my pc with loads of games in it but I have a PS2, a Nintendo DS (so used the top is broken), a PSP and have been contemplating on purchasing a Wii this Christmas, as a gift to myself! Are you shock yet? Ha! ha! ha! But I kid you not. Because I am not a bag nor shoes collector (as how my husband describe women) but a gamer, oh that sounds so not normal I know!
Anyway, one day as I was browsing the internet for some new game for my consoles, I saw a new one for my DS lite, it’s a Cooking Guide defined as : Cooking Guide provides numerous convenience features and additional information (e.g. on preparing ingredients) to facilitate cooking which go beyond the capabilities of printed cook books. I didn’t really gave it much attention because come on, you’re not going to feed your family with food based on a game right? But I was so wrong! Just 2 days ago, I saw this Dutch new program about gamers where they featured a whole family addicted to games: mom, dad and 2 kids all busy with their respective game console. Guess what mom was doing? She was in the kitchen with her Nintendo DS on her side, using it as her recipe book preparing dinner for her family! To make a long story short, by the end of the program, they were eating her preparation. Now that I found too extreme? Or is it? (^0^) I wonder if this Cooking guide game really works? Anyway to each his own right, down to how and where we find our recipes for cooking.
Anyway I have a few foodblogger friends from the same age bracket who are also gamers so I know that I am pretty not ‘abnormal’. So I don’t care if my husband would give me a look when I purchase a Nintendo Wii but by golly! by hook or by crook I will. I am currently checking out price comparison from this website. I want to get the Wii Fit with Wii Balance Board as my first game, I heard it’s quite fun!
How about you, are you a gamer? would you consider getting your recipes from a game console?

The only video game I have been playing so far (without guilt!) is DDR (Dance Dance Revolultion). I bought the PS2 software as soon as my two sons pooled their money together to buy PS2. Now they have done the same thing to purchase Wii, and my older son requested a DDR for that as Christmas gift. Guess who’s gonna play with them once I give that on Christmas?
